Dear reader,
My name is Javon; I am a 31-year-old father to a fantastic one-year-old boy and a husband to an incredible wife. My wife, Chawan, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS affects many young people. The average age at diagnosis is 30 - and there is still no cure! Thus, I am participating in the May50K campaign to raise funds for MS research.
MS is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain and spinal cord and usually begins in early adulthood. The disease still leaves many questions unanswered and varies so much from patient to patient in terms of progression, symptoms and treatment success that it is difficult to make generalized statements. For this reason, MS is also known as the "disease with a thousand faces".
