Not a runner, but running 50K for a future without MS

Last September, at age 30—the exact statistical average for a diagnosis—I was told I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS). To be honest, it was devastating, and I still battle with accepting this reality every single day.

MS is the "disease of a thousand faces," where the immune system attacks the central nervous system.

Why I am running (and why it’s a big deal)

If you know me, you know I am not exactly a runner, in fact, I’m more like the opposite! Taking on this distance is a huge personal challenge, but the fear of cognitive or physical decline is big for me. So being able to do this feels like a no brainer and while current treatments can help stop the disease from progressing, we still lack the science to regenerate and repair the damage already done. I am running to fund a future where healing is possible.
